A foul wind constantly blows across the decimated canyon, giving it the name Deadwind. With these changes I can only think that it will start to resemble it's former glory which we've seen in CoT: Black Morass. The Blasted Lands bear that name for a reason: they were twisted by the magic that brought the Dark Portal into being, spewing the rampaging orcish Horde into Azeroth. From the Swamp of Sorrows, simply follow the road into the southern part of the swamp, then take the road south at the middle of the zone. The Blasted Lands is a short flight from Stormwind, for Alliance players. that's the one i favor, because its closest. It sits in the very middle of Azeroth and connects Duskwood and the Swamp of Sorrows. Serving as borders between Duskwood and Swamp of Sorrows, evil magic can be felt all through the zone, the trees are all but dead, and … So, what are you waiting for? Bladefist Bay. It is south of the Elwynn Forest, east of Westfall, west of Deadwind Pass, and north of the Stranglethorn Vale. Bring them to Quartermaster Lungertz in Nethergarde Keep. This foul desert was once the southern part of a dark fen of marshlands called the Black Morass the northern part being the Swamp of Sorrows. Deadwind Pass is another region of the continent of Azeroth dominated by evil magic.
Mountains block any moisture that may come from the Swamp of Sorrows to the north, and the only signs of life can be found within the Tainted Forest on the southwest, but it was corrupted by demonic powers that have taken hold over the mastermind behind the revitalization of the scorched scar, the Gilnean druid Marl Wormthorn.
Once through the pass and into the Swamp of Sorrows, make for the center of the southern border. Players level 58 and higher can take a portal from any capital city to the Dark Portal. Use the Dark Portal from the Blasted Lands to get from Stormwind to Outlands. This desolate and barren land has very little in the way of flora and fauna (the only exception is the Tainted Forest) barring the demons which now wander the plains.
